Press THE SUN DIAL RESTAURANT, BAR & VIEW PRESENTS "PAINT IN THE PODS" AS PART OF TURNER FIRST THURSDAYS, THURSDAY, APRIL 1 Skot Foreman Fine Arts to Display Works by Dali, Escher, Warhol and Raffle Off a Peter Max Lithograph ATLANTA (March 19, 2004) – Rotating 360 degrees above the city, The Sun Dial Restaurant, Bar & View with Skot Foreman Fine Arts present "Paint in the Pods," a monthly art installation, as part of Turner First Thursdays starting Thursday, April 1 from 5-8 p.m. The Sun Dial’s Executive Chef will indulge guests with complimentary contemporary American hors d’oeuvres and the bar will feature its brand new "Level 73" cocktail. Skot Foreman will display nine paintings and raffle off a custom framed print by Peter Max entitled "Liberty." Turner First Thursdays is a self-guided tour of galleries held the first Thursday of every month. Parking is readily available. WHAT: "Paint in the Pods," a monthly art installation in conjunction with Turner First Thursdays showcasing art, Executive Chef’s complimentary hors d'oeuvres and the new "Level 73" cocktail. WHO: Artists featured include Salvador Dali, Chris Dolan, M.C. Escher, Howard Finster, Keith Haring, Peter Max, Macuria Montolanez, Andy Warhol, Tom Wesselmann and Purvis Young. Located at 210 Peachtree Street in Downtown Atlanta, The Westin Peachtree Plaza, which houses The Sun Dial Restaurant, Bar & View, opened in February 1976 as the world’s tallest hotel. Designed by Atlanta architect John Portman, it remains the tallest hotel in the western hemisphere. The Sun Dial Restaurant, Bar & View is a tri-level complex, featuring a revolving restaurant and bar plus a viewing level all located 723 feet above Atlanta atop the Westin Peachtree Plaza. The restaurant serves lunch daily from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. and dinner Sunday – Thursday from 6 - 11 p.m., on Friday from 6 - 11:30 p.m., and on Saturday from 5:30 – 11:30 p.m. The bar is open Monday – Friday from 4 p.m. until closing, on Saturday from 2 p.m. until closing, and on Sunday from 2 – 11:30 p.m. Live Jazz is provided by the Mose Davis Trio every Wednesday and Thursday from 6 – 10 p.m. The viewing level is open daily from 10 a.m. until closing.
